Integrated State Exam: Pedagogy, Psychology, English Didactics

The state exam consists of a diploma thesis defence, oral exams in Linguistics and Literature and an integrated exam in Pedagogy, Psychology and Didactics.

More info about the integrated exam is available here (CZ) and here (foreign students).

Literature

The state examination in Literature takes the form of an oral, argument-based presentation, dealing with a selected topic in British and American literatures after 1945. In the presentation, the student demonstrates their ability to work independently and critically with a text, formulate a thesis statement, support and defend it with the help of primary and secondary sources and make meaningful connections. The overall assessment of the Literature part of the state examination consists of

  1. the preparation sheet,
  2. the presentation proper, and
  3. the student’s ability to engage in the follow-up discussion.

Students will upload their preparation sheet into a Moodlinka course called State Exam four weeks before the exam.
