Dr. Zerzová is a recognized specialist in intercultural communicative competence in foreign language education. Her foundational work in this area includes pioneering research using the Intercultural Development Inventory® v3 (IDI®), which represents one of the first applications of this validated instrument in the Czech Republic. Her findings have demonstrated the tendency for university students to overestimate their own intercultural competence, providing critical insights for curriculum design and teacher training across the university.

More recently, Dr. Zerzová has expanded her research to encompass the diverse needs of learners. This includes focusing on neurodivergent learners in EFL classes and exploring the ethical and pedagogical role of Artificial Intelligence in intercultural competence development. Her habilitation thesis, centered on Learning English as a Foreign Language with Autism Spectrum Disorder, directly addresses the critical challenge of making English teaching truly inclusive. We congratulate Dr. Zerzová on this well-deserved achievement and anticipate her continued significant contributions to the field.
